Long Term Update 6: 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T

Senior Editor Jonny Lieberman spent a few days with the Challenger, which made him feel especially young. "I'm perplexed at how much I enjoyed the DODGE CHALLENGER R/T. What a difference a manual makes! The car just works, and works in an unabashedly straightforward way. You can't help but smile when you see it. You can't help but smile when you push the start button and hear the starter jog for a few moments before the big, ol' Hemi fires up.

Then you can't help smiling even wider as you sit there like a child, revving the throttle. Vroom-burble-burble-vroom! I had an extremely hard time resisting the temptation to smoke the tires at every single red light. The car begs you to light 'em up. In that way, the DODGE CHALLENGER R/T is childish -- wonderfully, magically childish."
