First Drive: 2012 Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale (European Spec)
At the recent 2011 New York Auto Show, Maserati launched the hard-edged GranTurismo MC Stradale for America. At first glance, it looked just like the car the Italian automaker launched in the rest of the world a couple months back.

But upon further inspection, the U.S.-spec MC doesn't have the idiotic interior arrangements of the global MC Stradale. It doesn't have a rollcage that precludes use of the back seats - that is, if there were any back seats, because they, too, have been removed. It's also missing the daft four-point harnesses that take ages to fasten and prevent you from reaching out to pay tolls.

Let's face it, these quasi-race items are pointless. MC might stand for Maserati...

MASERATI QUATTROPORTE 4.2 i V8 32V (400 Hp) The red
This is one of many cars I have, the reason why I bought the Maserati that it's sporty and business like, I still prefer my Bentley Continental GT but the Maserati has some great power too it. This car was bought second hand in Rotterdam by the Maserati dealers on an American Express Centurion (Black) card. I think design wise the car will be a classic of the future, there have been afew problems with it but nothing majour.

First Drive: Ken Okuyama's KO7 Roadster
Designer extraordinaire Ken Okuyama's love for cars is matched by his love for wristwatches, especially those from TAG Heuer. He prizes these precision timepieces so much that he has achieved an industry first: He has created a sports car inspired by one of those watches, a Grand Carrera. His KO7 roadster might employ a Lotus Elise R platform and powertrain, but that's where the similarity ends. In an exclusive test drive, we traveled 230 miles north of Tokyo to his hometown of Yamagata to be the first behind the wheel of the rare coupe.

But before Okuyama let us near his four-wheeled masterpiece, we found ourselves on a guided tour of one of the most amazing, multi-faceted design studios....

First Drive: 2011 Mercedes-Benz CL-Class
After receiving the invitation to drive the new 2011 Mercedes-Benz CL V-8 variants, we immediately began talking about the big coupes in terms of a comparison test. But we ran into a significant issue: There's nothing to compare a CL against. In practice, the CL is little more than a two-door S-Class, making it the equivalent of a BMW 7 Series Coupe, or a two-door Audi A8. Trouble is, those last two cars don't exist.

What about at the other end of the spectrum? You could argue that the Maserati GranTurismo is little more than a Duoporte, though the two-door Maser is much lighter than the big Merc and much more focused on sport than heartbeat-slowing luxury. There's also the 612 Scaglietti,...

First Test: 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe
We're in tough company: A couple of Bugatti Veyrons and a Lamborghini Reventon roadster jostle with a Ferrari 458 Italia and a 599 GTO. A Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG leads various Maserati Gran Turismos, a brace of Alfa Romeo 8Cs, and a white Lexus LFA. And at the head of the line is the new McLaren MP4-12C, making its world debut in the same shade of orange the Bruce and Denny Show used to paint their Can-Am-conquering M8 racers back in the '60s. At the wheel is current F1 world champion Jenson Button.

The 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe I'm driving is also making its world debut here in the Supercar Run at Britain's astonishing Goodwood Festival of Speed, the world's greatest car show. This will be...

First Drive: 2011 Alfa Romeo Giulietta
Is an Alfa-loving Romeo going to fall for this Giulietta? It's a tough question. If the new five-door hatchback from one of Italy's most beloved brands was as beautiful to behold as it is pleasing to drive, the answer would be 'Yes. Yes! Yesss!' But, as the photographs surely make plain, the Giulietta lacks lust-worthy looks.

Only from front on is the car's provenance obvious. From angles where the shield-shaped Alfa grille isn't visible, the Giulietta is, well, unremarkable. It looks like something Subaru's styling studios might have done with the Impreza hatch, on a good day. It's surely not the best thing to come out of Alfa Romeo's corner of Fiat's big Centro Stile (Styling Center) in Turin.

 Despite...
