First Look: 2012 Bentley Continental GTC
We've already sampled the updated 2012 Bentley Continental GT back in April, and now it's time for the drop-top version, the GTC, to take a bow before its debut next month at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. Like the coupe, the updates to the 2012 Continental GTC are evolutionary, with many of the differences hiding firmly in the details. The craftsmen (and women) from Crewe applied the same sort of small, careful updates to the convertible that they have for the coupe.

The big news for the convertible is in the open air interior. A new, sweeping dashboard and instrument panel help the GTC's cabin feel more spacious and luxurious. The interior is hand-crafted from the finest soft-touch leather...

MASERATI QUATTROPORTE 4.2 i V8 32V (400 Hp) The red
This is one of many cars I have, the reason why I bought the Maserati that it's sporty and business like, I still prefer my Bentley Continental GT but the Maserati has some great power too it. This car was bought second hand in Rotterdam by the Maserati dealers on an American Express Centurion (Black) card. I think design wise the car will be a classic of the future, there have been afew problems with it but nothing majour.

First Look: Ferrari FF
Amadeo Felisa, Ferrari's chief executive and veteran engineer, says his all-new Ferrari FF four-seater is as fast around a track as a 599. "Not the GTO," he adds hastily, "but the regular 599." For the FF to be as fast as the shattering (and shatteringly hard-to-drive) GTO would be impossible. For it to be as quick as the regular 599 is merely miraculous.

Ferrari people are suspiciously keen to stress the Ferrari-ness of their new car. Could this be because the last time they strayed from their supersports heartland with the California, they suffered a squall of criticism for going soft and selling out?

Well, if the California tore the envelope of the traditional Ferrari ideal, then the new...

First Drive: 2011 Mercedes-Benz CL-Class
After receiving the invitation to drive the new 2011 Mercedes-Benz CL V-8 variants, we immediately began talking about the big coupes in terms of a comparison test. But we ran into a significant issue: There's nothing to compare a CL against. In practice, the CL is little more than a two-door S-Class, making it the equivalent of a BMW 7 Series Coupe, or a two-door Audi A8. Trouble is, those last two cars don't exist.

What about at the other end of the spectrum? You could argue that the Maserati GranTurismo is little more than a Duoporte, though the two-door Maser is much lighter than the big Merc and much more focused on sport than heartbeat-slowing luxury. There's also the 612 Scaglietti,...

First Look: 2011 Bentley Continental GT
The Continental GT is one of Bentley's sexiest machines ever, and the brand's best-selling model. In a diamond-encrusted nutshell, the luxurious yet athletic Conti GT is very important to Crewe. It has remained largely unchanged for seven years, and by now, the once undeniably eye-catching shape is showing its age. It's understandable, then, that Bentley's engineering and design teams have invested countless development hours and hundreds of millions of dollars to craft what you see here: a cleaner, more powerful and oh-so-much-sexier Continental GT coupe.

Contrary to how it might appear, Bentley officials maintain that the 2011 Bentley Continental GT is an all-new model, not simply a refresh....

First Test: 2010 Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed
Any company that names its performance models "Speed" is just fine by us, especially when it's not just marketing hype. The Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed is quite a mouthful, but in this case it's an entirely accurate description. With its 6.0-liter, twin-turbo W-12 engine tuned to deliver 48 more horses and 74 additional lb.-ft. than the regular Continental Flying Spur (it also gets retuned suspension and sticky Pirelli P Zero tires on 20-in. rims), the CFS Speed is a car that will hit a genuine 200 mph on the autobahn while barely breaking a sweat.

Yes, the Bentley's sheer, um, speed is astonishing. And there's nothing wrong with its acceleration, either. The 0-60 mph sprint is dispatched...

First Test: 2010 Rolls-Royce Ghost
The 2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost is a historic automobile - the first small Rolls-Royce launched since the 1949 Silver Dawn. "Small" is a relative term, however. Though 17.1-in. shorter than a Phantom sedan, the 212.6-in. Ghost is still 4.3-in. longer than a Bentley Continental Flying Spur, and weighs a not insubstantial 5381 lb. The pricetag's hardly small, either. The base Ghost stickers for $246,700, and most cars sold in the United States will come in at $300,000 or more, says Rolls-Royce Motor Cars North America President Paul Ferraiolo.

If you have to think before you tick the options box, you can't afford a Ghost. Look at our $308,350 tester. Those 20-in. alloy wheels? That'll be $5000, thanks....

Cadillac XTS Platinum Concept at 2010 Detroit Auto Show
The 21st century has proven that eco-friendly drivetrains can peacefully coexist with high-end design: witness the E85-compatible Bentley Continental Supersport, the Fisker Karma plug-in hybrid, and the fact that Rolls-Royce is even considering an all-electric version of the imposing Phantom.Riffing on the not-so-outlandish concept of a luxurious alt-fuels future, Cadillac's XTS combines plug-in hybrid technology and plush, modern design. The XTS Platinum Concept is powered by Cadillac's direct injected, 3.6 liter V6, which works in conjunction with a plug-in hybrid system to deliver an estimated 350 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels. When plugged in to a standard electrical...
